Why social reporting? Why this blog?

The reasons are multiple but in short: I am interested in combining my love of writing, of expressing an opinion, of being exposed to new ideas, of being a photographer, of exposing others to interesting facts, of idolising adventurous fieldreporter Tintin, of analysing my thoughts and emotions, of trying something new, of observing people in action, of working to the beat of my own drum, of using modern technology enabling round-the-clock contact and immediate transmission and receipt of info........synthesize all of these and one ends up with a blog portraying the path of a newbie social reporter at the SAOIM 2012 meeting.

The aim of the blog will be to convey the personal thoughts, emotions, difficulties and obstacles, tiny triumphs, experiences and encounters while being trained and volunteering as a social reporter. It covers the period 22 May 2012 - 10 June 2012.

Welcome to my journey!
